What is Montessori?

The Montessori method of teaching is to teach the child to be independent. It promotes self-discipline and learning at the child’s own pace. The children work independently, with guidance and encouragement from their teachers.

The Montessori classroom is designed to appeal to a child's senses, touch, sight &, sound. The Montessori curriculum Incorporates mathematics, literacy, cultural, sensorial & practical life, as well as developing personal skills and confidence.

When the young child is encouraged to use all of his or her senses to investigate the world, learning becomes a natural and joyful activity.

The teachers are eager to become an integral part of each child's education; they work in partnership with the parents in order to care for their child, and to provide a safe, happy & loving nursery where the child can flourish safely.
